What Is Career Coaching?

For organisations career coaching is generally used in one of 2 ways :

1. To facilitate a company-wide career management and development programme. This is usually aimed at motivating, developing and retaining employees while also increasing profitability.
    
2. To work with specific executives. For example to develop leadership skills, or to support the executive with a promotion or location.

What Do Career Coaches Do?

• Help clients connect with a deeper level of motivation than ´just a job´, through discovering their passion and purpose.
• Work with clients to design and implement a life-long career strategy.
• Listen, ask powerful questions, provide feedback, support, challenge and encourage clients to be their best.
• Remove blocks to career progression, such as lack of confidence, low self-esteem, limiting self beliefs, lack of purpose and so on.
• Improve clients´ ability to market and sell themselves in the job market and improve future earning potential, regardless of the economic climate.
• Help clients effectively manage change and transition.
• Assist clients to increase self-awareness, discover who they truly are and what they want to achieve from their work and life.
• Improve relationships, interpersonal and communication skills and decision-making abilities.
• Work with clients to achieve a desired balance between work and personal life

How Does It Work?

Executive coaching offers a mix of face-to-face and virtual coaching. This mix varies depending on the location and flexibility of the executives to be coached.

Virtual sessions tend to be extremely popular due to the flexibility and time-efficiency of telephone coaching. Plus it allows for both the client and the coach to be fully engaged, without any outside distractions.
